Vincent Lamar Wilburn was born on August 16, 1959,
in Newark, New Jersey, to Lillie B. Goode and Rev. Dr. Willie S. Wilburn, Sr.
He departed this life on March 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love,
laughter, and service.
At an early age, Vincent’s family relocated to
Lakewood, New Jersey, where he was raised and educated in the Lakewood School
System. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1977. That same summer,
Vincent answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United
States Army. He completed boot camp and served on active duty in Germany, later
continuing in the Army Reserves until receiving an honorable discharge in 1983.
